Cheese and Wine - a glorious day in the vineyard

We had a wonderful, sunny day in the vineyard last Sunday. More than 60 people came for our first ever Cheese and Wine Event. We put the day together in partnership with Mark of Cheese on Towcest, who is a fantastic local cheesemaker based in Towcester (geddit?) and we provided platters of cheese and glasses of sparkling wine in the sunshine. Trying to find enough shade for everyone turned out to be the main challenge of the day, but good to have that problem. It felt more like the south of France than Northamptonshire!

Mark wandered among the tables - explaining how the cheese is made and the selection on each platter. And John provided tours of the vineyard throughout the day.

It was a joy to see people enjoying the vineyard and its history.

Thanks also to Alfred from Alfred’s Fruit and Vegetables in Towcester for the wonderful grapes and strawberries, and to Friar’s Farm in Northampton for the plum chutney. A great combination

Definitely one to repeat!
